dairy school 2021 clarence farm services

Clarence Farm Services Dairy School

The week of November 16-18th, the Clarence Farm Services nutritionist and farm consultant team got together in Windsor, NS for their annual “Dairy School”. Our team was joined virtually by Dr. Mike Hutjens, Professor Emeritus of the University of Illinois and Dairy Extension Specialist, to cover topics including transition and fresh cow health, milk components, and forage outlook for the 2021 crop. Cargill’s Matt Groen (Dairy Technical Services Specialist) and Gabrielle Guitard (Ruminant Service Technician) provided training on Dairy Enteligen, a new on-farm data management tool, and updates to our ration formulating software, Optilac.

The team was also joined by Olivier Demers from Alltech, who provided training on strategies to mitigate the effects of mycotoxins in forages.
